The move to France marks a re-branding of the World Series of Poker Europe itself. Now allying themselves with the Lucien Barrière Hôtels & Casinos and BarrierePoker.fr, the they will be re-titled The World Series of Poker Europe Presented by BarrièrePoker.fr. Together they will work to promote poker in France through both land based and online fixtures. As the World Series of Poker Brand (a subsidiary of Caesars Interactive Entertainment) is currently the richest and longest running poker brand, they are an invaluable ally for the task of French poker promotion.
As the first step in the new corporate partnership, a new WSOP.fr website will be created, which for the the first time will present all of the latest WSOP information in French. Caesars Interactive entertainment and BarrièrePoker.fr. will design the website together, which is expected to be unveiled later this year.
Jean-Etienne Bouedec, Chief Executive Officer of BarrièrePoker.fr., expressed great joy at the new union: “Backed by this alliance, we will be even better equipped to let online players access the most prestigious world poker events in casinos and to benefit from special, unique operations in conjunction with WSOP events” he said. Certainly great news for all French fans of the felt.
