It is a huge weekend for live poker in the UK this bank holiday weekend with major tournaments taking place all over the country. No doubt the biggest is the “Poker for Heroes” at Dusk till Dawn in Nottingham (previewed below), but if you cannot get to Nottingham this weekend, we have listed some of the other great tournaments which are taking place.

Poker for Heroes – DTD Sunday May 29th

Help for Heroes is a charity organisation providing financial assistance and other forms of help for injured servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan (web site). The poker community has come together to stage a fundraiser for this non-political charity at Dusk till Dawn – who have donated the venue and staff free of charge.

Other contributors to the event include PokerStars, who have donated an £8,000 EPT poker package, Sky Poker (Sky Poker Tour Grand Final seat), Betfred ($4,300 of online tournament tickets) Grosvenor Casinos (GUKPT Main Event seat and 2x GUKPT Goliath Seats), Ladbrokes, William Hill, PKR Poker, 888 Poker, Blue Square Poker, Party Poker, Genting Casinos and many, many more.

The tournament buy-in is £125.00, with £25.00 going directly to the charity (no registration or administration fees) and starts at 4.00pm. You can register for the event at the club or online (registration closes at 3.00pm on Sunday), and find out more about the Poker for Heroes event on their dedicated Facebook page.
