UKIPT Manchester Schedule 2011
The G Casino is a superb location for live poker events of this magnitude, with a 100 seater poker room, full casino facility, excellent restaurant and a late bar serving drinks and snacks until 3.00am.
Situated to the north of Manchester City Centre, G Casino is best accessed from the M60 (Junction 17) or the train station for the Manchester Evening News Arena. Manchester airport, which comprehensively served by a number of international and domestic carriers, is only a 30 minute drive away and, in theory, you could even arrive on a barge via the network of active canals that still thrive in the city.
The full UKIPT schedule for the four day festival of poker is still to be confirmed, but the Main Event will start on Friday 10th (Day 1a) and Saturday 11th (Day 1b), and conclude on the Monday evening. Direct buy-in is £500.00 + £50.00, but online UKIPT qualifiers are also available through PokerStars from as little as $2.22 or 111 FPP.
VIP players on the PokerStars team can buy in using their tournament $s, so expect some well known UK poker players to be involved in the events which carry a total guaranteed prize fund of £200.000.
Last year´s Main Event saw 518 players (including 279 PokerStars qualifiers) compete for a total prize fund of £259.000, with Dutch professional Joeri Zandvliet collecting a winner´s cheque of £63,200 and a place in the £5,250 EPT London season finale.
This year´s winner will also receive valuable points on the UKIPT Leaderboard competition, which rewards the top 3 poker players with packages to UKIPT Main Events in the 2011/2012 season, and the top 100 players with an entry into an exclusive £10.000 PokerStars online freeroll.
