Leg 1 Manchester

GUKPT 2011 Manchester Schedule

Leg 1 of the 2011 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour kicks off 24th January in Manchester, and with the weather forecast for the weekend expected to be – well, what you would expect in Manchester in January – there is no better place to be than the new G Casino on Bury New Road.

Described as Manchester´s hottest new venue (and it would have to be in this weather!), the casino room regularly seats 100 players in a variety of cash games and mini-tournaments, and has an excellent restaurant and cocktail bar for players and railbirds alike.

This is the first year that Bury New Road has hosted the first leg of the GUKPT, and G Casino has scheduled a full week of side events to compliment the £1.000.00 + £70.00 Main Event which starts on Thursday (27th) and Friday (28th).

The side events include £30.00 + £5.00 super satellites into the Main Event which are being held during the afternoon sessions leading up to the event, and qualification is also still available online at G Casino Poker for not only the Main Event, but many of the valuable side events as well.

Last year´s Main Event saw 192 players competing for a first prize of £54.850 and a seat in the GUKPT Champion of Champions event. The winner of GUKPT Manchester 2010 was Birmingham professional Kuljinder Sidhu in possibly the shortest heads-up session ever in a GUKPT Main Event (it was all over in two hands).

This year it could be you, and even if you do not finish as GUKPT Manchester 2011 Champion, there is also the season long GUKPT Leaderboard competition to participate in. This year the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour is giving away £65.000 to the top twenty performers on the tour – making it the richest poker rankings system in Europe.
